Understanding Trauma:

a workshop to support your healing journey

Most people are familiar with the words “fight”, “flight” and “freeze” these days.

But it’s important to know what those states actually look and feel like, and how to respond to them.

I’ve been studying trauma and working with clients in this area for years. Having a solid understanding of what happens when we experience trauma, or when we are reacting to ongoing trauma triggers, is vital if we are going to feel whole in our own bodies and minds. Even if you haven’t experienced significant trauma, the information we’ll be covering is relevant to you. Honestly, I believe it’s relevant to everyone since our trauma responses show up for most stressors in our lives.

You’re invited to this quick and dirty introduction to understanding trauma…

What is it? A 90-minute pre-recorded online workshop on understanding trauma covering all the basics you need to know to understand what’s happening when you’re feeling triggered or are processing a traumatic experience. We’ll also cover a whole range of tools you can use to help you ground and process your emotions so you can build your own trauma toolkit.

What will I receive? You’ll get immediate access to the online workshop recording. You’ll also receive a workbook for you to work through during the workshop so you have a set of concrete notes and tools to take away with you.

  • What trauma is and isn’t

  • What happens in your brain when you're in a state or responding to trauma or a reminder of that trauma

  • Ancestral trauma

  • Fight/flight/freeze/fawn states - what they are and how to work with them

  • Using your window of tolerance as a guide

Here’s a taste of what we’ll cover in this workshop:

  • Tools for grounding in moments of emotional dysregulation

  • Ways of working with your trauma to support you to feel more calm and ease in your life

  • A trauma toolkit to help you navigate moments of dysregulation

  • And more...

What people are saying:

“I really appreciate how much Kelsey packed into the session - it was the perfect amount of time to introduce the concepts and tools, and she did so in an accessible, clear, and welcoming way. I walked away thinking about ancestral trauma, bystander trauma, and fawning, concepts that I've heard about but haven't had time to dig into. All of the materials were very validating and have prompted a lot of new avenues of thought for me.”  - JoHana
