Who were you before the world told you who you should be?

I truly believe this is one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves.

Throughout our lives, we receive so many messages about who we “should” be in the world and what we “should” do. So many of us end up feeling disconnected from our inner knowing. One of the best ways to reconnect with this part of our selves is through inner child work.

I’ve created this self-study mini-course to walk you through the process of connecting to your inner child, nurturing and reparenting her, and stepping back into your power.

We all have an inner child.

The inner child is the part of us that remains exactly that - a kid. As we grow up and go through our lives, we don’t entirely leave our old selves behind. We might have parts of us that still feel hurt and wounded in the way we did when we were six, or parts that feel left out and betrayed like we did when we were twelve, or parts that feel afraid in the ways we did when we were a teenager.

All of those old parts exist within us and show up in the ways we perceive situations, the ways we react and respond, and the patterns in our lives and relationships. When we can begin to get to know our inner child, we can tend to ourselves with the unconditional love and compassion we deserve.

Learning how to do that is what this mini-course is all about.

Let’s take a peek inside…

Module One - In this first module, we'll be exploring who you were before the world told you who you should be, what beliefs and "should"s you learned growing up throughout your childhood and how this informs your view of yourself and the world now. We'll also touch on the larger systems at play and how those impact you too.

Module Two - In this module, we'll be getting to know our inner child, and trying to identify how they show up in our life now. Then, we'll explore the concept of reparenting and find specific ways to show up for our inner child now in the ways we really need.

This course is made up of four modules that you can approach at your own pace. Each contains an audio lesson with a transcript exploring the material, and a workbook filled with reflective exercises and journal prompts to guide you through connecting to and reparenting your inner child.

Module Three - In this module, we're going to dive a little deeper into that exploration. We're going to examine some of the learned patterns that you developed during childhood - to keep you safe, or support you to feel loved - that you might still be holding onto now. Some of these patterns might not be supporting you anymore, even though they made so much sense and were adaptive at the time. We'll start to notice some of these and see how you can let them go.

Module Four - This final module is all about taking action. It's about turning the knowledge you have into tangible ways you can show up for yourself, reparent your inner child, and really find ways to have deeper compassion and love for yourself.
